Kelp Opportunity: PhD Position!
Historically, wild-collected or cultivated seaweed has been used for one, maybe two end products at a time. Anything left over after the prep and extraction of these products would be thrown out. But this type of thinking is fast becoming a limiting factor in the enablement of the sector to scale.
There are so many more juicy molecules and components in seaweed that can be harnessed and extracted. Come be a part of the group aiming to understand how to apply a ‘bio-refinery’ method to extracting components from seaweed.
This opportunity at Wageningen University is open to anyone with a Masters degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, or bioprocess/chemical engineering.
